What does the visit cost, and does it come off the repair?

Does Viking equipment behave differently at Denver altitude?
Gas does. A mile up there is less oxygen in every cubic foot, so a burner set for sea level runs rich: tall orange flames, sooty grates, a simmer that drops out. The answer is the altitude orifice set and a manifold pressure check, not a new burner assembly.
How quickly can somebody get out to me?

My refrigerator and dishwasher have custom cabinet panels. Do they come off?
They come off, and they go back on. Panel-ready fronts, toe kicks and trim come away in a set order and are refitted to the same alignment. If a panel will need adjusting afterwards, that is said before it is unscrewed, not after.
Will the part be on the van?
The common ones travel: igniters, spark modules, altitude orifices, door gaskets, hinges, thermal cut-outs, drain and circulation pumps, inlet valves and float switches. Anything model-specific is ordered against the serial plate, which is why the plate is photographed on the first visit.
What is worth having ready when I call?
The model and serial number off the plate — inside the oven door frame on a range, on the upper left wall inside a refrigerator, along the edge of a dishwasher door. Then what you noticed and when it started. Two minutes of that often decides which parts come out on the van.

Viking built its name on commercial-style equipment moved indoors: sealed burners with real output, cast grates heavy enough to hurt, a griddle plate where an ordinary range puts a fifth ring. Equipment like that is worth repairing rather than replacing, and it rewards being set up properly.
